After thinking most of today about Being the Change for Animals, and what I could write about, I realized the same words kept coming through my head. I would dismiss them. What do they have to do with blogging for the animals?
I would turn back to the keyboard, think about all the wonderful volunteers and staff at the rescue shelters, and foster homes in Tampa Bay, Florida, my current home base. I spend much of my day reading and writing about their events, news, adoptable pets, classes, and etcetera. How could I separate out one group over another? I can just write about the community.

My favorite thing to do while I wait for inspiration is to read other pet blogs. The words kept coming back to me. It’s in every one of us. OK. That is a great title, but where will it take me. Relax, take the time, and figure it out. I went to the Be the Change blog hop to see what others were writing.
The proverbial ‘two by four’ from up above finally hit me over the head. We are the change for animals I want to write about. We, the pet bloggers.
The title of one of my favorite songs, “It’s in Every One of Us”, by David Pomeranz, took over. As I recounted his words and attached them to all the wonderful things pet bloggers write about day after day, I understood. We are making changes for the animals; we write tirelessly on behalf of the animals.
Here is the chorus:
‘It’s in every one of us to be wise’ – we do the research and share it
‘Find your heart’ – we are passionate about the animals and their welfare
‘Open up both your eyes’ – we see the good and write about changing the bad
‘We can all know everything without ever knowing why’ – we are dedicated to change for better treatment and understanding of the animals and we don’t ask why
‘It’s in every one of us’ – Passion, heart, good will, dedication, sharing, caring, friendship
Now, Mr. Pomeranz on YouTube. As you listen, think about the pet blogs you follow and the wonderful people you know because of pet blog community. I hope you will see a special synchronicity.
