S.P.O.T. (Stop Pet Overpopulation Together), in Tampa Bay, Florida, has some easy to remember reasons for anyone who does not “get” the importance of Spay/Neuter.
Spay/Neuter has many benefits…
If you Love your Pet fix them…
The earlier you spay/neuter your pet the longer they can live. Studies show that fixed pets can live up to
6 years longer.
Tired & Frustrated with Behavior problems?
Spay/Neuter prevents spraying and marking, aggression, escaping to find a mate, fighting, roaming, humping, howling all night in heat, messy heat cycles and more.
Want to be a part of the Humane solution?

What do you think keeps humans from spaying/neutering their pets?

Great advice Fisher…the message cannot be repeated too often
Little by little we are all helping make improvements. It just seems like time stands still sometimes. The power of the paw is alive and well all over the internet!
Great advice Fisher! I think there are all kinds of things that keep people from spaying and neutering their pets but mostly not being educated might be the number one reason. Some people are hard-headed too and just have to learn the hard way unfortunately.
I agree, Ann. I have not heard any good logic for not spaying/neutering.
I think the only things that stop humans from spaying and neutering their pets is ignorance! If they really understood the deal, they would not hesitate!
I agree 99%, Sparkle. Some people can become so defeated by a bad situation in their lives, they just give up and don’t do anything. That is the only excuse that makes some sense, and hopefully life for them and their pets will pick up asap.
Thank you for participating in the BTC4A World Spay Day Blog Hop and for spreading the word about the importance of spay/neuter. There are millions of dogs and cats who enter the shelter system each year, and half of them are euthanized! It’s a shame for any healthy animal to be put down for lack of a forever home.
I think we need to bring this subject up all through the year. A lot of people just don’t understand. I hope we aren’t just preaching to the choir, though.
