Dear friends,

My staff person received an important message today. Please take a moment to read it.

Dear Critter-Saving Folks:

A colleague of mine needs to place this wonderful, calm, and affectionate female cat into an adoptive home. Will you help? Please spread the word.
We need to find her a home this week. Thank you, all.

Details:

  1. Russian Blue Female – very sweet and calm
  2. All Shots, still has claws but does not use them on furniture (nice!).
  3. Spay surgery was done, so she is parked in neutral.

The kitty with the beautiful green eyes and gentle personality is located in St. Petersburg, FL
Her person is no longer able to care for her.
Please check with your friends who love cats.
We have it on excellent authority that all claims are true.

Fisher

Dear friends,

Today is the most exciting day of the year at our house. My staff has passed her love of the Fourth of July on to me. We are independent every day, but I also learned we are free every day. We pursue happiness every day. Every day. Celebrate. Every day.

Have we met?

Have we met?

A while back, we volunteered to foster a little beagle named McCoy. Because we are not allowed to keep dogs in our rental house, our experience was for 10 days only. We did have the approval of our landlord, especially when he was told this little guy had less than a day to get rescued before he would be killed.

I have always like dogs and was happy to have McCoy join us for a short time. I was amazed at how much my staff loved him. It was a sad day when we took him to another long-term care foster home. My staff just plain fell in love with him.

The best way Blog for Change and honor pet foster parents is to present this poem, author unknown, but it says it all -

Dear Foster Mom

There I sat, alone and afraid.
You got a call and came right to my aid.
You bundled me up with blankets and love.
And, when I needed it most, you gave me a hug.
I learned that the world was not all that scary and cold.
That sometimes there is someone to have and to hold.
You taught me what love is, you helped me to mend.
You loved me and healed me and became my first friend.
And just when I thought you’d done all you do,
There came along not one new lesson, but two.
First you said, “Sweetheart, you’re ready to go.
I’ve done all I can, and you’ve learned all I know.”
Then you bundled me up with a blanket and kiss.
Along came a new family, they even have kids!
They took me to their home, forever to stay.
At first I thought you sent me away.
Then that second lesson became perfectly clear.
No matter how far, you will always be near.
And so, Foster Mom, you know I’ve moved on.
I have a new home, with toys and a lawn.
But I’ll never forget what I learned that first day.
You never really give your fosters away.
You gave me these thoughts to remember you by.
We may never meet again, and now I know why.
You’ll remember I lived with you for a time.
I may not be yours, but you’ll always be mine.

We are very happy we had the opportunity to do what we could. There is nothing small about any help anyone can give.

Scooter is not the only one who is a little “off” around here. The staff woman was very intent on getting photos of Scooter’s project in the back yard, but she is not much of a photographer. So in order to give viewers a better perspective of the work in progress, she decided to put little cocktail umbrellas on top of the mounds.

I, on the other hand, have some sleepless nights just wondering what the end product is going to look like!
If you have a dat or a cog at home, I would love to hear about it!

Dear Friends,

I received another letter from Mary, the cat who would be queen. She is reunited with her people and living well. Her beans cleaned up their act, looked around and realized they missed their beloved Mary.

All is now well in her kingdom, and also in the household of the two cats who were unprepared to serve her.

I got to thinking about how much I love my people and how much they love me. I was somewhere and they were somewhere and we ended up together. So all you critters out there may want to share this with your people and their people. Adding a box of tissues might be a nice touch, too.
It is a beautiful world and we can all get together right now.
