GEEK SQUAD (man’s new best friend?)

It’s a new day, a new time. The old phrase, “who you gonna call?’ has a new best answer - the Geek Squad! You guessed it. It’s been a quiet week after the computer crashed. Boy, did I think I committed a major sin. I didn’t know if it was my exhuberance, or lack of thumbs or what, but all of a sudden, a users worst nightmare, right there on the screen in front of me.

“C-R-I-T-I-C-A-L E-R-R-O-R” Windows is shutting down. What????

My mind went into overdrive - do I wake up the Woman, do I just walk away and act like nothing happened, hide…what? Knowing my own penchant for pushing buttons just to see what happens, I decided the best thing would be to shut down, walk away, and take a nap - but with both eyes open to see how everything unfolds.

The Woman fussed awhile. I don’t really think she blamed me for anything, but I stayed out of the way after noticing a few glances in my direction while she was trying to figure out the problem. Then I heard her on the cell phone. (Another modern technology that I swear I am not going to even TRY!)

She pushed some buttons, chuckled a little, pushed some more buttons, and then began talking to someone on the other end. We were down for a week until … drum roll … Double Agent Garcia from the Geek Squad was at our condo, in the studio, and in charge of recovery. http://www.geeksquad.com

What a relief! And, we found out it was really nothing we had done. It was just a very strange quirky Windows thing. But, I can tell you, Double Agent Garcia stayed with it until the mystery was solved and the computer was restored back to just-like-new! Geek Squad is already penciled in on our calendar for a May, 2008, check up. Check it out - and even if you don’t need help right now, it is worth just listening to the voice prompts while you are getting directed to Service.

My advice for today: Have short mental list of “who you gonna call”. My suggestions - the police dept, fire dept, and Geek Squad. That should just about cover everything.
