Hunkering inSomething is in the air - moving stuff, cleaning out stuff, new furniture coming into the house. I have to admit my first reaction was that we were moving - AGAIN! Not so, thank goodness. But, in all my temporary confusion, I just hunkered in and let things unfold. Glad I did, too, because there is a new couch for me in the living room! Well, not JUST for me. I can share.

So, anyway, with all the cleaning out the old and bringing in the new, I found an email from my Connecticut cousins, Janey and Emily Rose. I didn’t even know they sent it to me! Seems things are going on at the Connecticut house, too. They sounded quite giddy about the whole thing. Seems they were told to stay in another room for a little while. They heard noise (loud noise) and strange voices (very strange) and didn’t know what was going on…but they knew SOMETHING was up.

They got busy making a plan. When they were allowed out, the plan was to slink into the bedroom and set up a base of operation under the bed. (They are young and still resort to hiding under the bed sometimes. I really thought only humans did that.) So there they were, “slinking” as Janey tells it, with her in the lead and Emily Rose close behind. It was a fairly short slink - or so they thought!  They made it into the bedroom - plan going well - until they suddenly found the bed was missing! They were so surprised they didn’t know what to do!  They slinked around the perimeter of the room, realizing they had no Plan B.  Their human started to chuckle, then they started chuckling, and all agreed it was a very good idea to get a new bed. Janey wrote that she is quite sure the new bed will not be on the kind of base that doesn’t allow for cats going under.

I will share with you the advice I gave them - because it does seem that there is just something in the air lately and it could be happening at your house, too.

Here it is…ALWAYS have a Plan B.

“In a cat’s eye, all things belong to cats.” — English Proverb

I just knew it. I just knew it! This blogging world is going to be really fun. Look what I found. A beautiful cat named Nora who plays the piano - and very very well! Let me know what you think and if you come up with any ideas on how we can all get pianos!
